Class & Grade Level Expectations
Bear Necessities
Third Grade
In third grade, we all possess rights and have responsibilities to ensure a healthy, safe, and inviting learning environment. These rights and responsibilities include:
This year Bangert has also adopted a school-wide leadership matrix for the students “The Bangert Bear Necessities” which promotes learning responsibility, respect, and safety within all areas of the school. (see back for matrix)
The Bear Necessities will help children become responsible and respectful citizens of their school and community. If a student chooses not to follow the expectations set forth, there are consequences. Each student has an Oops Folder of their own. In the Oops Folder the student will have the opportunity to reflect on his/her choices. This will allow the student to think about what happened and what he/she could do differently if the situation arises again. After the student has written his/her reflection, the teacher will have a short conversation with him/her then the student and teacher will sign it. It will be sent home to be signed by the parent as well.
If a student writes in the Oops Folder more than once in a day, he/she could lose a privilege, call a parent, or be sent to the principal’s office. The action taken for writing in the Oops Folder will be at the discretion of the teacher depending on the severity and frequency of the student’s poor choice. You may track your child’s behavior through the weekly red folder sent home on Tuesdays.
Together we can help your child have a very positive and rewarding year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher at 514-6415 or through email.
Thank you for your support!
